Portal Terms & Conditions
Version 2026-08-01. Starter draft — solicitor review pending before final launch.
1. Who we are
CompareMyVet (“we”, “us”) operates the vet-price comparison service at comparemyvet.uk. Our registered company details will appear here after our solicitor review is complete.
2. What the portal is for
The CompareMyVet Portal lets veterinary practices in the UK (“you”, “your practice”) claim, verify, and update the public-facing information CompareMyVet holds about your practice — including prices, opening hours, contact details, and service information — so that pet owners can make informed choices.
3. Your authority to submit information
By submitting any information about a practice through the portal, you confirm that:
- You are authorised by the practice to provide that information;
- The information is accurate to the best of your knowledge;
- You grant CompareMyVet the right to verify, store, and publish the information on
comparemyvet.ukand related surfaces.
This is the same wording that appears as the acceptance checkbox on every submission.
4. How we verify claims
We use an extensible verification ladder to check that the person claiming a practice is authorised. In v1 this includes automated email-domain matching (against the practice’s public website) and manual review by our team. We may revoke a verified claim at any time if we discover the verification was incorrect.
5. What we do with your submissions
Approved submissions become part of the public CompareMyVet dataset. Rejected submissions are retained in our audit log for record-keeping (see §7).
6. Prohibited use
- You may not submit information about a practice you are not authorised to represent.
- You may not use the portal to disparage competitors.
- You may not attempt to bypass verification (for example, by claiming with a personal email address that does not correspond to the practice).
- You may not submit false or misleading information about prices, services, or ownership.
7. Data retention
We retain audit logs of all submissions and moderator decisions for six years from the date of submission, for compliance and audit purposes. Exact retention period subject to solicitor confirmation.
8. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the portal at any time, at our sole discretion, if we believe you have breached these Terms.
9. Liability
Liability clauses appropriate to the UK B2B service context will appear here after solicitor review.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified to registered users by email at least 14 days before they take effect. The version identifier in the header of this page (currently 2026-08-01) is captured on every submission you make.
